Trilobite Huge Asaphus. At 10 1/2 x 12 inches, this 475 million year old Asaphus trilobite is one of the largest and most unusual trilobites known. Something in the warm seas of Alnif, Morocco 475 million years ago caused trilobites to grow to such size (most are only 1-2 inches long). This unusual black trilobite has long curved genal spines extending outwards from its head. Placed on a 16 x 17 inch stone matrix, the quality of this notoriously poor preserved trilobite is very good with just some minor restoration on the ends of the genal spines.
