1874 Trade Dollar. NGC graded Proof 64. Gorgeous pastel and rainbow iridescent toning on both sides. Lustrous frosted relief on the eagle and seated figure of Liberty with mirror-like depth in the reflective fields. Both are distinguishing features of the well made Proofs. Razor-sharp strike. A truly attractive Proof 64 specimen of a fashionable Type from an era when the U.S. government hoped to influence international trade with Asia by means of this specially designed Trade dollar. Only 700 Proof struck. Pop 49; 25 finer with 17 in 65, 6 in 66, 2 in 67 (PCGS # 7054) .
