The pressure transmitted from the die to the blank reveals itself in sharp stars, hair curls and eagle on this pleasing half dollar from the year 1823, the year of the famous Monroe Doctrone, proclaimed by President James Monroe to warn off European interlopers into the affairs of the Americas.
