1797 Draped Bust Half Dime. 15 stars. . LM-1, V-2. NGC graded VF-35. A natural gray toned specimen with faint steel and blue iridescence in areas. Typically struck for the date, certainly much finer than many coins, however, and worthy of strong bidder consideration. There are some old faint hairlines in the field before Liberty as well as an impurity streak on the neck. Three main varieties for 1797 include the 13-star, 15-star, and 16-star issues (PCGS # 4258) .
