Lot 590

1849 N-3 R4. MS-62 Plus. Frosty dark steel brown and chocolate with slightly faded mint red remaining in the protected areas. The eye appeal is excellent, very close to choice MS63, with satiny surfaces and only a few microscopic marks. A small stain of darker steel brown toning on the rim over star 5 is a good identifying mark. M-LDS, die state q (old die state d late) with crumbling on the left base of the I in UNITED but without crumbling connecting the O in ONE to the leaf at left. CC#3 for the variety. Removed from a PCGS slab graded MS63RB (old green PCGS label included).
Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,000.
