1831 N-10 R3 Double Struck. VG-7. Glossy light chocolate brown with medium chocolate toning in protected areas. Smooth surfaces. The only significant mark is a rim dent at star 11. EDS. Double struck in the collar with a nearly 180 degree rotation between impressions. Traces of the initial impression show on both sides with the hair bun in the field at the nose tip and several stars positioned in the field between the stars of the second strike. On the reverse you can see the TE from STATES at the second A in AMERICA and the F from OF at the U in UNITED. A careful examination reveals additional evidence of the initial strike.
