Lot 367

1800 NC-3 R6-. VG-7. Glossy dark chocolate brown with light chocolate toning covering the devices. The two-tone appearance accents the details and adds to the eye appeal. The surfaces are decent and appear perfectly smooth to the unaided eye, but a glass reveals extremely fine roughness under the glossy patina in the fields and protected areas. No verdigris, and the only notable marks are an old scratch down between the N & E in ONE to between the N & T in CENT and a rim nick at the A in STATES. The date and legends are complete and strong except for minor weakness at D-STAT. The spike up from the top of the I in AMERICA is bold, and this is the main attribution marker for the variety. Tied for CC#4 in the Noyes census. Bland has this one tied for CC#5.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 3,000.
Ex Tom Reynolds.
