Lot 32

1796 C-2 R4. VF-30. With Pole. Sharpness EF40 with a half dozen light hairline scratches that meander around the obverse fields. They blend perfectly with the attractive natural glossy chocolate and light olive brown toning. Otherwise the surfaces are choice and the eye appeal of this piece is outstanding. The reverse is flawless. The fields are hard and slightly reflective on both sides suggesting an early strike from the dies. Removed from a PCGS slab with an old green label graded XF40 (PCGS label included). Weight 84.2 grains. Comes with a marvelous provenance.
Estimated Value $35,000 - 45,000.
