1794 S-57 R1. EF-45. Five points sharper with a short vertical pinscratch down from the tip of a lower curl to the dentils below plus a few very light, barely visible rim bruises and tiny rim nicks on both sides, none notable or at all distracting. Very attractive lustrous light to medium chocolate brown with frosty lighter brown toning in protected areas of the reverse. A small spot of darker olive brown toning is located at the left foot of the L in LIBERTY. MDS, Breen state III. Excellent surfaces and eye appeal for the grade in spite of the minor marks. Called AU55 net EF45 by Bland. Noyes says AU50 net EF40. Comes with an impressive provenance.
