Lot 1685

1923-D $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-67 CAC approved. A magnificent golden-sunset gem with intense satiny mint luster throughout. First, a description of the luster: luminous golden surfaces. Next a word about the strike: Superb! Put another way, the pressure transmitted from the die to the blank reveals itself in sharp features on Liberty (face, knee, toes, gown folds) as well as just as crisp detail on the soaring eagle (breast feathers, wings and flight feathers, beak and face). In an old green label PCGS holder (PCGS # 9176) .
Estimated Value $9,000 - 9,500.

Realized $12,363
