Lot 161

1804 C-6 R2. Fine-15. Spiked Chin. Ten points sharper but coated with a silvery gray substance similar to the silver wash found on some of the old political tokens. This wash is worn away on the highpoints but it still dominates the surfaces. Those surfaces are otherwise nice with only trivial contact marks and no hint of corrosion. A shallow pitmark near the dentils well left of the L in LIBERTY is a good identifying mark. Glossy steel and silvery gray with steel brown highpoints. Rare M-LDS, Manley state 10.2, Braig state 7.2. The die crack arcing through the top of the M is thick.
Estimated Value $100 - 150.
Ex: Doug Bird 1/04.
