1804 C-6 R2. VF-20. Spiked Chin. Five points sharper with a fine diagonal hairline scratch across the cheek and earlobe into the hair at left. Otherwise smooth and attractive with only trivial marks. Glossy medium chocolate brown. M-LDS, Manley state 9.0 late, Braig state 6.5, with the area over the I in UNITED just starting to rise as a retained cud break. Although this die state was not mentioned in Breen's book, Walter saw the coin and stated, with his reference book in hand, that "This is what my die state XII was meant to be."
