Lot 1568

1914-D $10 Indian. NGC graded MS-65. A gorgeous gem specimen boasting rich golden mint bloom colors. Examples are seldom offered even in MS64, in spite of the relatively high mintage, and MS65 examples command a lot of respect in the numismatic community since few were saved at the time, collectors in those days rarely cherry picked coins for their sets. At the present level, the coin in this lot should attract a lot of bidders. Both the obverse and the reverse are very sharply struck. In fact, we are unable to locate any ill-defined areas. The luster is bright and glowing with a swirling cartwheel sheen and lovely toning. This is one of the prettiest 1914-D Indian eagles that this cataloger has even handled. Pop 33; 17 finer with 11 in 66, 6 in 67 (PCGS # 8876) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 11,000.

Realized $14,375
