Lot 1057

1889-O Morgan Dollar. NGC graded MS-66. Stunning deep blue and golden toning on both sides. The surfaces are fresh and original from the lovely mint frost that swirls below on both sides to the incredible toning. Struck with preciseness only now and then found. The '86-O is one of the most significant condition rarities among all New Orleans dollars. Near-Gems can be had on occasion but true gems are very scarce and full-blown Superb Gems like this are almost non-existent. This is a particularly attractive example whose surfaces are satin smooth. There are no obvious abrasions on either side. This piece really represents excellent future fame when it is resold, and should be a fantastic alternative to one of the lesser Gems that have been certified. Quite a remarkable specimen. Pop 5; none finer (PCGS # 7192) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 11,000.

Realized $12,650
