1883-CC $20 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-58. Mostly untoned with luster evident and light field abrasions. 59,962 minted. Notice the increased mintage? By 1883, yields from the Comstock mines were staging a minor comeback, according to Carson Mint historian Rusty Goe in his book "The Mint on Carson Street." All of the output was being deposited at the Carson City Mint for processing. "This fueled resuscitated coinage operations at the local minting facility, which had begun in 1882.
