Lot 3837

1913 Buffalo Nickel. Type 1. PCGS graded MS-65 PQ. Lovely rainbow toning on both sides. Something special this way comes: by that, we mean a delightful date run of toned Buffalo Nickels, with this premiere beauty being just a foretaste of what is in store for bidders. The coin is lustrous; satiny surfaces display iridescence throughout, with the overall appearance greatly bolstered by strong luster. Regarding this date, the words FIVE CENTS appear as though on a mound. Their position relative to the protecting rim cause them to wear quite quickly once in circulation. This is therefore the first Type issued in 1913 (see the Type 2 for further description) (PCGS # 3915) .
Estimated Value $150 - 200.
The Harpeth Valley Collection.

Realized $288
