1817 N-7 R3 "Mouse Top". Fine-15. Slightly sharper with a few minor rim bruises on the obverse and a small patch of minor roughness at the 18 in the date. Glossy reddish chocolate and olive brown. MDS with a strong "Mouse Break" resting on the top of Ms Liberty's head below star 8. A popular die state named after the little rodent because the break resembles a tailless version of this little animal, an often-maligned critter that's badly in need of a good publicity agent.
