1855 C-1 R1. PCGS graded MS-64 Red. Frosty original mint red mellowing to light steel brown on the highpoints, 90% of the mint color remaining. A lustrous gem if not for a small spot of darker steel toning (not carbon) in the field just right of the inner curl and another in the dentils over the M in AMERICA. A common variety but a great type coin. EAC grade consistent with the slab grade.
