Warburg is a city located in North Rhine Westphalia, near where Hesse, Lower Saxony and North Rhine Westphalia meet. By 1600, the town was an important trading center. Its strategic location led to repeated invasions during the Thirty Years War. In fact, in the same year of minting (1622), the town was captured by Christian, Bishop of Halberstadt.
