Theodosius II, 402-450 AD. Gold Solidus (4.42g), Constantinople mint, struck 441-450 AD. Diademed, helmeted and cuirassed three-quarter facing bust holding spear. Reverse Constantinopolis enthroned left, holding globus cruciger and scepter; foot on prow of ship. RIC 321 [R4]. Probably removed from mount, numerous marks; About Extremely Fine.
