Ptolemaic Egypt. Ptolemy I, 305-283 BC. AR Tetradrachm (14.3 g), by the "Delta" Master. Diademed bust of Ptolemy I right, wearing aegis; small Δ in curl of hair behind ear. Reverse Eagle standing left on thunderbolt, regnal inscription around; monograms in field. SNG Cop. 69 var.; cf. BMC p. 19; 51 (with Δ at ear?). Minor metal roughness before ear, otherwise bold, sharp strike, with pleasing iridescent toning. About Extremely Fine.
