Indochina (French). Six Piece Proof Set, 1900-A (Paris). Silver 10, 20, 50 Cents and 1 Piastre; Copper Sapeque and 1 Cent. KM-PS2 (KM-6, 8,9, 10, 4a.1, 5a.1); Gad-17, 25, 32, 35. Mintage of only 100 sets struck. Very Rare set and choice. Lot of 6 coins. NGC graded Piastre, 10 and 20 Cents, Proof 65, the 50 Cents NGC graded Proof 64; Copper Sapeque and 1 Cent NGC graded Proof 65 Red and Brown.
These were issued by the French as trade coins to be used in Southeast Asia. The French wanted to influence and compete with Chinese interests in the area.
