Great Britain. Kings of All England. AR Penny, ND (Gloucester, struck c. 1029-1035). North-790; S-1159. 1.13 grams. Cnut (the Great), 1016-1035 AD. Short Cross type. Moneyer, Wulfnoth. Diademed and draped bust left, scepter before; + CNVT ·RECX:· around. Reverse: Central circle, short voided cross with annulet center, pellet within; + PVLNOÐ ON GLEP around. Crisp bold strike, with excellent metal and flan. Much luster. Variegated toning: lovely dark silvery to blue-gray, the recesses with dark pinks and russets. Lustrous. Very Rare. NGC graded MS-61.
