Great Britain. Kings of Mercia. AR Penny, ND. North-423; S-938. 1.23 grams. Burgred, 852-874 AD. Profile Portrait type. Schematic diademed draped bust right, with pectoral cross; BVRGRED REX. Reverse: Inscription in three lines: MON ETA in upper and lower lunate registers, with three pellets on either side of words; in central: TIDEHELM. Finely centered, sharp strike on excellent metal. Even, medium neutral to pinkish gray toning. NGC graded MS-62.
Estimated Value $800 - 900.
