Peru. Republic. 8 Reales, 1832-MM (Lima). WR-17; Eliz-118; KM-142.3. 26.02 grams. Large Liberty type. Tripartite shield of arms flanked by wreath, and crowned above by smaller wreath. Reverse: Pallas Athene, as Liberty, stands frontal supporting tasseled cap on spear, while one hand rests on shield. Good almost full strike. Fields satiny to reflective, with bold cartwheel luster. Variegated medium to deep smoky toning, more intense on the obverse, with fine coloring in the recesses. NGC graded MS-62.
