Peru. Republic. 8 Reales, 1831-G (Cuzco). WR-17; Eliz-133; KM-142.4. 27.01 grams. Large Liberty type. Tripartite shield of arms flanked by wreath, and crowned above by smaller wreath. Reverse: Pallas Athene, as Liberty, stands frontal supporting tasseled cap on spear, while one hand rests on shield. Very good strike, the fields quite clean. Pleasing medium to deep smoky toning, with fine multicolored iridescence along the peripheries. NGC graded AU-58.
