Peru. Republic. 8 Reales, 1826 JM (Lima). WR-16; Eliz-101; KM-142.1. 26.42 grams. Small Liberty type. Tripartite shield of arms flanked by wreath, and crowned above by smaller wreath. Reverse: Pallas Athene, as Liberty, stands frontal supporting tasseled cap on spear, while one hand rests on shield. A superior strike. Fine reflective fields with excellent cartwheel luster. Light smoky toning, more intense along the edges. NGC graded MS-63.
