Apollo Soyuz, 1975, NASA Distinguished Service Medal. Presented to the recipient in 1982, this award is NASA's second highest award. It is presented to a person who, by distinguished ability, or courage, has personally made a contribution representing substantial progress to aeronautical or space exploration in the interests of the United States. The medal is engraved on the reverse "Donald K. Slayton / February 27, 1982". It is mounted in its original blue box with gold trim and velvet interior (4.25x4.5x1.5"). Included with the medal are a lapel emblem and a ribbon rosette as issued. A historic and important piece of memorabilia.
