European Antique Silver Bird Box, Musical Putti. A lovely antique silver bird box, ca. late 19th-early 20th century, rectangular shape, 4" by 2 1/2", hallmarked on reverse 800 VSH (swan above with outstretched wings) and a crescent moon. Decorated with floral designs and putti playing musical instruments as the main thematic design on the bird opening and front and side panels. The box in very good age appropriate condition and the automata in excellent working condition (the bird chirps as cheerily as it did 100 years ago) with key and housed in a modern protective case.
