Lot 1400

Lot of Russian Decorative Metal Arts. Russia, 20th century. From Kavkaz, Russia, a multi-element belt done in the traditional engraved silver with niello enhancements. The belt segments of dual joined hemispheres linked by chain, with the buckle halves of triangular form, and a securing pin fashioned as a miniature dagger. Amid the floral decoration is the city's name, Kavkaz. Length: 28-3/4". Another buckle, composed of two triangular elements, in the venerable technique of enameling and set "gems." This with floral arabesques of lighter hue, placed against a background of rich deep blue. Height: 3-1/4". Last, and probably the oldest, a "bull's eye" buckle with exceptionally fine enamel work. The colors are lighter and brighter, with an almost Italian Renaissance feel to the artwork. Width: 3-1/4". Lot of 3 items.
