English/American Regimentally Marked Flintlock Fowler. By "W. Ketland & Co.", 45" .62 cal. round steel barrel with three British proof marks on left side of breech. Brass furniture with the wrist escutcheon engraved "H.M. 47th Rt. 1775, 2" (His Majesty's 47th Regiment, 1775, 2nd Company?). The stock has a period replaced splice of wood on upper edge of right side of fore-end and a period repaired break through the lock mortise. Otherwise solid with normal age scratches and dings from years of service. Includes original hickory ram rod and in good working order.
