European/American Colonial Flintlock Pistol, c. 1720-1750. 8" tapering octagon to round steel barrel with three inlayed brass unidentified makers' marks. Possibly of Dutch origin, originally had a barrel length around 12"+, but was cut down during its working life. Engraved brass furniture. English replacement lock by "Barbar, London" married to pistol c. 1740-1750. Stock has wonderful, almost glass appearance from years of handling. Plain period upper entry ram rod pipe and nose cap are typical of Colonial American work. 15" overall length, untouched condition, in good working order.
