Each silver medal is 48 gm, 935 fine and each bronze medal is 40 gm. Designs feature archaeological sites, plus Jonah and the whale, the Ben-Gurion Airport, and a symbolic representation of Jerusalem. Cities commemorated are Jerusalem, Ashkelon, Acre, Tiberias, Beit-She'an, Avdat Caesarea, Jaffa and Lod. An ancient coin minted in each city is shown on the reverse. 9 of the 18 medals are pictured.
