1970, Lot of 5 10 Lirot Silver Coins, Pidyon Haben (Redemption of the First-Born Son) & 1998, 50th Anniversary Coin. Each Pidyon Haben coin is 26 gm, 900 fine, 48,888 minted. This was the first in the Pidyon Haben series. Design features the two Tablets of the Law, with inscription below: "All the first born of your sons you shall redeem (Exodus 34:20)." Traditionally 5 coins are presented to the rabbi at the ceremony. These 5 coins come in a handsome olive-wood presentation box. Coins have attractive natural toning, one has a light scratch, one has edge ding. Would make a meaningful gift. Included are two blank Pidyon Haben certificates. Also, a 50th Anniversary 1 New Sheqel coin and a copy of Israel's Declaration of Independence. Uncirculated, Pidyon Haben coins toned.
