Rome. Agrippina Senior, wife of Germanicus, d. 33 AD. AE Sestertius, Rome mint, struck 42 AD. Memorial issue struck by Claudius. Draped bust right. Reverse: Lengthy legend around, large SC at center. RIC 102; BMCRE 219; C. 3. Well centered on very round flan. Minor striking flatness at section of legend and to ear and cheek of the portrait. Overall a crisp and handsome portrait, with natural roughness to the metal. Dark brown and green patina. Very Fine.
