1853 Half Dollar Round California Arms. NGC graded MS-63. Low rarity 5. Lovely rose color gold toning. One of the most sought after coins in the series. The "Arms of California" is a famous California fractional gold variety. Unique to BG-435. The die maker chose the California State Arms as his theme. The reverse is a miniature version of the Territorial gold coins issued by the U.S. Assay Office in the gold rush period. The present specimen has natural toning over lustrous surfaces. Carefully made and free of abrasions, it has choice surfaces without laminations or spots. A marvel of preservation! New to the census. Previously graded MS63 by PCGS (PCGS # 10471) .
