Lot 1802

1909-S Lincoln Cent. VDB. NGC graded MS-64 Red & Brown. Lovely shades of mint red. Popular key date. The small V.D.B. (for Victor D. Brenner) can be found along the lower inner rim on the reverse. Although inconspicuous in its placement, it caused enough objections that the mint removed the initials. Only 484,000 cents were struck at the San Francisco Mint before this took place, which created an instant rarity (PCGS # 2428) .
Estimated Value $1,800 - 2,000.

Realized $2,340
