Lot 1114

1796 S-117 R5+. Good-4. Draped Bust. Sharpness F12 or a bit better but there are two deep, round dents or punchmarks on the obverse, one at the mouth and another in the field just above the hair ribbon. These two dents are strong enough to cause bulges at the opposing spots on the reverse in the leaves under ITE and ERI. Otherwise the surfaces are decent with only trivial roughness and no significant marks. The date and legends are complete and clear except for the aforementioned weakness at ITE. Rather glossy chocolate and olive brown. E-MDS, Breen state II.
Estimated Value $300 - 500.
Ex John D. Wright 10/78-Thomas Wolf.

Realized $322
