Two Polychromed Ivory Figurines of Children -- Characters of Japanese Folklore. Japan, c. 1950's-1960's. One, a young boy holding a large peach -- likely Momotaro, the "Peach Boy." He with pleasant, plumpish features, and wearing decorative patterned garments; his shirt with fan emblems with roiling waves within. Along with him is a figure of a little girl holding a ladle. Her features are set, and determined, as she also lifts a buck filled with water. Heights: 4". Colorful, charming art. Lot of 2 items.
