More Colorful Netsukes and Small Okimonos in Ivory. Japan, c. 1920-1975. Once more, an interesting and varied grouping of nicely fashioned carvings, the bulk attractively polychromed; the subjects comprising the usual genres. Eye-catching are: A bountiful and erotic nude caressing an octopus; a delightful badger figure in human garb; a benign and dignified immortal with white beard; and a child playing with a large theatrical mask. Eleven of the pieces carved as netsukes. All finely preserved. Largest: 3-1/2". Lot of 14 items.
