Lot of Fanciful Netsukes and Small Okimonos in Ivory. Japan, c. 1920-1985. A delightful and varied grouping of nicely fashioned carvings, the bulk attractively polychromed. Included are mythical personages (mermaid), as well as figures from daily life (a fisherman, or a sumo wrestler), as well as religious (smiling Buddha). The newest piece in ivory-like resin, with revolving face to display the figure's dual aspects. Eight of the pieces carved as netsukes. All finely preserved. Largest: 2-1/2". Lot of 14 items.
