A Menagerie of Animal & Critter Netsukes and Small Okimonos in Ivory. Japan, c. 1920-1975. This a charming group of nicely carved animals and sea creatures, the bulk tinted or toned, to bring out the details and textures. Of note are: a dinosaur(!!!); an octopus grappling a turtle; a delightful horse with head lowered; a ferret-like creature wearing a wig; and perhaps the oldest, a finely detailed bamboo shoot with insect. All finely preserved -- a few with small age cracks. Largest: 3". Lot of 11 items.
