Coltrane, John (1926-1967) Legendary American jazz saxophonist and composer; his musical innovations broke formal thematic and harmonic restrictions in jazz improvisation, setting new standards. Incredibly important and unique autograph musical manuscript unsigned, boldly written in pencil, entirely in Coltrane's hand, 6¼" x 9½", front and back, no place, no date. Coltrane practices the G-clef, writing out examples of different time signatures and basic music theory facts, like: "Major scale = 2 major tetrachords" and "Tetrachord = 2 whole, 1½ steps." Coltrane added two original, hand-drawn portraits, as well as other doodles. This is a one-of-a-kind Coltrane collectible such as is almost never seen in private hands. Copyrighted by Jowcol Music in 2005 prior to deassessing this original.
Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,500.
