Western Star - William S. Hart (1870-1946) Stage and film star; first silent cowboy star. Photograph signed at lower left "William S. Hart" and at lower right "The Horseshoe Ranch," 4" x 5¾". Dressed in cowboy gear, Hart sits on the ground in front of his horse. Fine. From the collection of Nick Williams, who personally knew and corresponded with many Western stars; he also interviewed many of them on his cable TV show called "Out of the Past."
