Handsome British Military 3rd Model Flintlock Musket. Great Britain, c. 1800-1810. The Service Contract musket with 39" round iron barrel, with English Birmingham proof marks. Lock marked: "Woolley Sargent & Fairfax;" the opposite brass side plate unmarked. The wood stock has suffered scattered wood worm damage, now carefully patched. Marks on wood: on left side, "Crown over WW" and "L"; toward butt: "Y over 212." On right side of stock, at butt: "CA." Musket with standard regulation brass furniture, steel rod, leather shoulder sling and hardware. Length: 55". A handsome, fully working period piece, that may have seen service in the Napoleonic Wars.
