Choice Cased Pair of French or Belgian Percussion Boxlock Pocket Pistols, c. 1830-1840. These beauties have 2.5".50 calibre octagon damascus-steel barrels. Very fine foliage engraved center frame with proof mark; "ELG". The triggers are activated and drop down from the frames when the hammers are pulled back. Beautiful carved fluted stocks. The butt caps are fitted with trap door cavities to hold the percussion caps. The mahogony box measures 9.5" x 6.5", and has been professionally relined in proper English green baize. The accessories include a percussion cap tin, reproduction powder flask marked, "SYKES", and a bullet mold. An extremely fine cased set of percussion pocket pistols in good working order.
