Lot 549

British Royal Navy Percussion Sea Service Belt Pistol, c. 1846. This pistol has a 6".57 calibre round iron barrel with three arsenal proofs; "CROWN over TP over BROAD ARROW, CROWN over B over 9 and CROWN over BROAD ARROW". Barrel is fitted with a captive ram rod. Lock is engraved with; "CROWN over VR (Queen Victoria), TOWER, 1846 and stamped CROWN over BROAD ARROW". The belt hook and percussion nipple has broken off during period of use. Stock is sound with normal scratches and dings from years of service. A very nice example of this pattern in good working order.
