USA Model 1913 George Patton Design Cavalry Sword. The last American cavalry sword designed by Lt. George Patton, Jr., who, during the period of re-design of the army's cavalry sword, was Master of the Sword at the Mounted Service School at Fort Riley, Kansas. Overall length 42" with a 35.5" steel blade having a blood groove in the center of both sides, this marked on either side of the ricasso "L.F. & C. 1918 U.S. No 11". The grip of hard black rubber in checkered pattern and the oversize guard of black painted sheet steel, this with paint chipping and possible re-painting in areas, otherwise good condition with only minor staining of the blade.
