Original Drawing by World War I Artist Lucien Jonas. 12¼" x 9" drawing of a French soldier for a book illustration, n.p., n.d. Signed by the artist at lower right, with "L'Observateur" (The Look-out) below. Lucien Jonas (1880-1947) was a French painter and lithographer who created many of the great World War I posters. During the war, he travelled along the front lines and produced thousands of drawings, oil paintings, charcoals, sketches and illustrations.
