MacArthur, Douglas (1880-1964) U.S. general who commanded the Southwest Pacific Theatre in World War II, administered postwar Japan during the Allied occupation, and led United Nations forces during the first nine months of the Korean War. Oversize photograph signed and inscribed "To Myra Grace. With the affectionate regard of Douglas MacArthur," signed in black ink on his right shoulder, on 18" x 14¾" card stock (image is 15¾" x 12½"), no place, no date. A distinguished head-and-shoulders portrait in uniform. Fine; one scratch on MacArthur's left cheek, minor toning on the light uniform, and a few minor blemishes to background and mount. A spectacular photograph, ready for framing and display.
